About
Written in third person so Autumn feels more comfortable:
Autumn Mallette was born right before the spring of 1998. She showed her creative inclinations at a young age, spending most of her time drawing, coloring, play-dough sculpting, and easy-bake ovening. Autumn wrote her first song, a love song, when she was about the age of seven and performed it for her mother in the laundry room because she was deathly shy and would burst into tears if anyone else heard her. As she grew into her teenage years, her shyness began to fade but her passion for writing always lingered in the background of her busy life as a student-athlete. Autumn began to explore poetry in high school and would sometimes write poems on the long bus rides to and from games or meets. She lunged at every opportunity to perform at her high school’s open mic nights (she did host them after all) and found validation in all the smiles and cheers of her classmates and teachers. Writing always felt good to her, but the satisfaction of presenting her writing to the masses was the cherry on top.
Autumn’s love for writing became its strongest when she went off to college and left home for the first time. She became a philosophy major and would lose herself for hours trying to write the perfect essay. Philosophy tickled Autumn to her core and writing about different philosophical theories made her heart and mind swell with joy and curiosity. She was gaining a greater understanding of herself, the world around her, and where she fits in it. Because of her newfound voice in the world, Autumn began to write raps; a perfect writing medium to compliment her newly discovered philosophy of ‘why tf not’. She was unapologetic, young, confident, and creative with nothing or no one holding her back. This is exactly what her music reflected. Autumn would perform her music at local artist showcases in her area and was received so warmly on every stage she crossed. By this time Autumn knew that writing is something she would be doing forever.
Autumn created the IttyWitty blog to really hone in on her writing skills while also building a portfolio for future opportunities as a writer. The name IttyWitty is inspired by Autumn loving witty people while also being a witty person herself, along with her inclination as a poet and rapper to make words roll off the tongue. In the future, Autumn sees herself as a successful copywriter, making six figures a year working from her laptop on the beach for only a couple hours a day (no this isn’t the beginning of her first fictional novel). The IttyWitty blog will help her find her niche, perfect her craft, and start building the future she envisions for herself all while doing something she loves.
If you’ve made it this far, thank you and
